THE BANKSY HOUSE
The Banksy House is home to one of the best-preserved pieces of Banksy street art on the planet. The last untouched piece from Banksy’s Great British Spraycation series dropped on the Norfolk coast and seaside town of Great Yarmouth.
Most pieces were vandalised, damaged or removed and sold at auction. The owner chose to keep this last pristine piece in place, preserving it for the town.
Our brief was to design a multi-faceted project to unlock the value of the Banksy and share the art globally, at the same time, leaving it intact to benefit the local community.
Bringing the project onchain was clearly going to be the starting point for the project.

RESEARCH & STRATEGY
Finding The Vision
We started by exploring the origins and inspiration of art itself: Why this town? Why this wall?
An old quote from Banksy’s Walls and Piece provided a possible answer and the seeds to build The Vision for the project.
We began a process of ethnographic research and the production of digital artefacts to build a story around The House and it’s home, the town of Great Yarmouth.
